A Consultant s Dilemma

I never understood why I had such an aversion to and trouble with numbers and mathematics. I wasn't stupid, I was reading before the end of kindergarten and have been devouring the written word ever since. English and history were easy subjects as were any others based on language and not numbers. Over the years I just decided I was 'stupid in math', that math was 'just not logical'. Then one day I mentioned in an online forum that I felt I had some sort of dyslexia but with numbers and not letters. Bingo! The answer came; perhaps I had Dyscalculia.

A hair extension can be made of human hairs or it may be a synthetic product that has been designed to look and feel more like hair does. The choice to use human over synthetic may be changed once the price difference of human versus synthetic is explained by your beauty consultant. The human locks can be as much as two times the cost of the man-made pieces.

Feedingkids.tv work on problems "for" their clients. A real estate coach guides their clients to see the problem and find ways that they can fix them on their own. After all, it is your business and not theirs.

Second, you must acknowledge the importance of trust. Without trust, everything takes much longer to do and to communicate and the results will always be less than satisfactory. When it comes to trust, the secret to earning people's trust is by trusting them. People follow the behaviors of others more than their words and so if you trust other people you are giving them the perfect example and incentive to trust you in return.

Write an article for publication in a local paper, professional journal or organizational newsletter. Do not discount that you are NOT knowledgeable or no one else would be interested in what you do for a living.

Keep a clear vision in your mind in every meeting, every conversation, every choice you make - when you're convinced your convincing and we all need a fan base. If you're not 100% clear, hire a coach and get clear.

The third reason for YOU to call customers is that you appear more successful when you do. Just reflect on the story I shared with you. If you HAD to place a bet right now regarding the success of all the Feedingkids.tv I described, who would you bet on as being the most successful? You'd probably bet on the consultant that called me. When you call your customers, they see you as someone who's doing her job well and obviously has it together. If they ever become a consultant on your team, they'll feel confident that their recruiter is a leader!

1) You must be committed to your dreams and goals. We are not talking about "fingers-crossed-wishing". We are talking that unshakable, gut level determination. If you don't have this, if you are just "hoping" this will work, don't even get started. No successful person starts a business on a whim, or with a mere fantasy.

First, the industry done part-time or full-time is great. However, you will never build a passive residual income with no time. Does that make sense? It does to me. Second, most Feedingkids.tv are secret agents. They don't tell anyone about their business opportunity. The reason I know this is that I have sponsored very good friends of consultants throughout the years. I didn't know that the person that I sponsored was a good friend of a consultant that was already in my business. The consultant was not aware that their friend was in my business either. Don't be a secret agent!

One might argue that if Instructional Design encompasses all aspects of creating eLearning materials, then it begins to phase out the need for professional IDs because any subject matter who knows the design tools can develop eLearning. I disagree. Just because someone knows how to use the tools doesn't mean he or she knows how to write instructionally. In fact, I believe the more an ID can branch out, the more marketable and necessary we become. It's one-stop shopping.

One thing you should keep in mind while going for SEO, it is a long term plan and you can expect the results from the website at least after 3 months only. Many people in the market suffered from their expectations on the SEO with their minimum knowledge.

Consider books, courses, audio programs all a part of your grander learning process. Commit to finding ways to practice what you are learning, and to finding ways to receive feedback (from yourself and/or others) about your progress.

Are you so future focused that you forget to look back at what you've done and give yourself an A for effort? It's important to know where you're going, but equally critical to know where you've been. One of the best ways to measure progress towards your goals is to write down important things you've tackled in the recent past.

I have been trying several different ways to re-invent myself over the past several months. This has been a very interesting journey as I am listening to all kinds of people who state in very convincing terms that they have found the way to a new life for me. Every one of them have fallen short of showing me the way that really gets me excited and filled with hope.
